Think it was most probably sheer relief on his part. If they'd lost that one He'd have been scratching his head as to where next.


All we needed was one half break in that last twenty and we would have nicked it, even with the odds stacked against us.
Huddersfield look poor, really poor to my eyes, all the more galling that we messed up so badly. Should have been two bankable points, two week break, keep the momentum going into the second third of the season.

I think union gives a yellow card which can then be upgraded to a red when the incident is reviewed during the 10 minute card period.   Seems a sensible approach and takes the pressure off to make an instant decision

Couldn’t agree more. Only issue is that it may make it an easy decision to use the yellow. On field decisions remain vital so this where we need more from touch judges who seem to do very little. The furthest away they can be is 40 yards but whos to say they need to stay welded to a touchline which could be VR decision where there’s doubt on inplay orout of play. Just a thought

The default position should be a yellow unless it's absolutely certain it's a red.  The yellow can then be upgraded to red on review by the VR.

Cartwright got it right when he said a red should only be given for deliberate foul play, not accidental clashes like cust
